Installing a Tracking Script
The Boost Express tracking code is installed on your event website to collect data about visitor actions. These include:
- Visiting specific pages
- Clicking buttons
- Submitting forms
This data is used to build audiences that sponsors can target in their advertising campaigns.
Note: You need access to the HTML source code of your website or the ability to add custom scripts via your CMS.
1. Open the Tracking Code tab
- In the left menu, open My events and select your event.
- Choose the Tracking code step.
- Your unique script will appear in the Copy this code box.
2. Copy your tracking code
Click Copy code to copy your unique tracking snippet to the clipboard. You can also send it to a teammate by clicking Send code to e-mail.
Caution: Your script will have a different numeric ID. Do not modify it or make any other changes to the code — otherwise it will not collect statistics correctly.
If you share the code manually, it is best to send it as a separate file, since some messaging or email services may remove certain characters from the script.
3. Add the code to your website
Note: If you use a website builder, you can contact the platform’s support team for guidance on how to add a tracking script to your site.
You can connect and verify tracking on multiple websites for the same event.
- Open your website’s HTML or the script settings in your CMS.
- Paste the entire tracking code just before the closing
</body>tag on every page where you want to track user behavior. - Save and publish the changes.
4. Verify the installation
- Return to the Tracking code tab in Boost Express.
- Click Verify installation.
- If the installation is correct, you will see a list of domains with a green check mark and the “Installed” status next to each:
- If the code is not detected, you will see:
Troubleshooting
If your tracking code is not found:
- Check if you have published the updated pages after adding the code.
- Make sure the code matches exactly what is shown in the Boost Express Tracking code tab.
- Try verifying the installation in your browser’s Incognito/Private mode.
- If your site uses caching or a CDN, confirm that the updated HTML has been deployed to the live version of your site.
