Setting Up a Subdomain for Landing Pages
A subdomain allows you to create a separate, memorable address under your main domain name. In Boost Express, subdomains are used to host sponsors' landing pages on your own domain instead of a generic Boost Express link. For example, you could use landings.event.com to host all sponsor landing pages for your event, with each page dedicated to a specific sponsor.
Using a subdomain improves brand consistency, trust, and navigation for your event audiences.
1. Add a Subdomain in Boost Express
Tip: If you work with a developer or an IT team, you can email them the provided instructions directly from this page.
- Go to My events in the left menu.
- Open the event you need to add a subdomain.
- Select Subdomain in the event setup menu.
- Enter the subdomain you will configure with your domain provider, for example
landings.event.com. - Click Save.
At this point, the subdomain will show as not connected until you complete the DNS configuration.
To proceed, use the DNS settings shown on the Subdomain tab to create a CNAME record with your domain provider.
2. Configure the Subdomain in Your Domain's DNS Settings
To make your subdomain work, you need to create a CNAME record in the DNS settings of your domain registrar or hosting provider. It maps your subdomain to another domain name. This means that when someone visits your subdomain, the content is loaded from the target domain.
Example:
- Type: CNAME
- Name/Host:
landings(this becomeslandings.event.com) - Value/Target:
e1.boost.express(example address provided in Boost Express)
3. Verify the Connection in Boost Express
- After adding the CNAME record in your DNS, wait for propagation — this can take up to 24 hours.
- Open the Subdomain tab in Boost Express.
- When the setup is complete, the subdomain will be marked as connected.
Troubleshooting
If your subdomain does not connect:
- Check that you entered the correct Name and Value in your DNS.
- Make sure there are no conflicting DNS records for the same subdomain.
- Use an online DNS lookup tool to check if your changes have propagated.
- If you recently changed your domain's name servers, make sure they point to the correct DNS hosting service where you added the record.
